'Baadshah' to be remade in Tamil


Chennai, April 8 (IANS) The super success of Junior-NTR starrer Telugu action-drama "Baadshah" has opened the way for its Tamil remake, the rights for which have been bought by Prasad V. Potluri of PVP Cinema.
"PVP Cinema has bought the Tamil remake rights of 'Baadshah', which is likely to be remade with a top actor. We don't know the name of the actor yet, but it is very likely to be made with a prominent face in Tamil," a spokesperson for "Baadshah", told IANS.
If grapevine is to be believed, Tamil actor Vijay is likely to be cast in the remake.
"Baadshah", which resurrected the fading career of Junior-NTR, who had three back-to-back flops, was directed by Sreenu Vaitla. It's the story of how a common man is forced to turn evil to overthrow a ruthless Don, wanted by Interpol for acts of terrorism.
The film also featured Kajal Agarwal Kelly Dorji, Ashish Vidyarthi, Navdeep, M.S Narayana, Brahmanadam, Tanikella Bharani, Ritu Varma, Siddharth Suryanarayan, Nassar, Vennela Kishore, Tagubothu Ramesh, Mukesh Rishi, Ajay and Chandra Mohan.
Produced by Bandla Ganesh, "Baadshah" minted Rs.13.5 crore worldwide on its opening day April 5. It is still running to packed houses.
